Automated nesting is designed for business that have multiple shapes for nesting, with a very easy to use interface you can select the parts, quantity’s or assembles you wish to nest along with material options and the nesting engine will create the best sheet utilisation it can based on the parts you have available.
Manual & Automation
Manual and Automated nesting is designed for the business that has multiple parts but want to nest them by hand. using the Automated nesting part selection screen you can build the library of parts to run and then the system will bring you into manual nesting for manual placement, whilst detailing and tracking the remaining parts to nest.
We have many nesting algorithms available from standard rectangular nesting to full common line and specialised algorithms for CNC punch shears.
If you are trying to prevent bowing on the sheet through multiple hits or trying to avoid heat distortion through the use of laser, plasma or flame then the staggered processing option is ideal for you. This automatic sequencing method will systematically space cut the parts on the sheet giving cool down time before cutting adjoining parts.
Multiple sequencing options are available with shortest distance, grid, linear and belt sorting being some of the highly used options, you can also break these down and set your own defaults or use the interactive tools to define a manual sequence.
If your running low on parts to fill the sheet then our remnant control feature is for you. Using remnant control you can select a rectangular area, define a detailed area of sheet to save or just let us automatically calculate and store it for you. Next time you run a nest you can simply add the remnant to you nest job and it will automatically be used for the first produced nest.
Batch Tooling & Nesting
Save additional time by importing geometry files into the nest job opposed to tooled parts and let the batch tooling loop through all the geometry files you have and tool them up ready for nesting.
If you have a low standard turret capacity and need to swap out a lot of tools then the conflict resolution feature is for you. The conflict resolution will look at all the tooled parts and compare them to your standard turret and then optimise the parts so they can be run together, any parts that cannot be converted automatically will then present the user with manual and automated options which would allow your parts to run together improving material yield and throughput.
Common line comes in two methods firstly you have the ability to common line all parts or identify / mark parts that you would not want to common line but in addition to this we also support paired part nesting which similar parts will be grouped together to reduce the cutting time whilst giving you more sheet stability.
Today’s manufacturing environment has more focus on health and safety and particularly one key area is ergonomics (manual handling). Our nesting has automated and configurable rules for sheet slice, so you can remove the need for an operator to handle a 3000 x 1500 (120” x 60”) skeleton sheet and have it automatically cut into ergonomic sizes.
